Introduction to the founders

Paul Edwards

With a background in high end interiors and property development I’ve spent years immersed in spaces where detail and design truly matter.My passion has always been creating environments where people feel something-whether that’s through a beautifully crafted home or an unforgettable experience.

I met Andy during our time on the nationally televised ITV 1 dating programme hosted by Davina McCall “My Mum Your Dad”.A truly unique journey that opened my eyes to the challenges and realities of modern dating especially for those of us seeking genuine connection beyond the apps.That experience inspired serious conversations and ultimately the idea to create something different.

Andy Pearce

After graduating as a surveyor Andy saw an opportunity for a unique business aged 21 providing accommodation and property investment for an array of clients but specialising in the corporate world and professional football sector. The latter has built long standing relationships with an array of national and international football players , managers and club directors.

Ultimately, after 25 years in business , family responsibilities saw Andy make the hard and selfless decision to sell his company to undertake sole and full time responsibility for his two daughters and to attend to his ailing parents increasingly pressing health needs.

The change from a high intensity profession gave Andy time for a lot of new thoughts and experiences such as ITV’s MMYD presented by Davina MCall which he undertook with his eldest daughter Issy. This gave a great insight into dating with a focus on feelings and social interactions under the professional guidance of counselleros and specialists on relationships. This ultimately led to some meaningful conversations and  a strong friendship with Paul, culminating in the formation of Real Dates.

My Mum, Your Dad is a heart warming dating series hosted by Davina McCall. The show follows a group of single parents, nominated by their grown-up children, as they embark on a journey to find love again. Set in a luxurious countryside retreat, the parents are unaware that their children are secretly watching — and sometimes guiding — their experiences from behind the scenes. It’s a unique and emotional twist on traditional dating shows, focusing on second chances and genuine connection.

The show brought together many unforgettable moments, including the friendship and bond formed between Andy and Paul, who met during their time in the retreat. Their shared experiences, support, and humour made them instant favourites with viewers — showing that the journey to finding love can also lead to lifelong friendships.

BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH CAMPAIGN (BTRC)

We are proud to support The Brain Tumour Research Campaign (BTRC) a UK charity dedicated to funding innovative research into brain tumours, aiming to improve treatments and work towards a cure. Founded in 2004 by Wendy Fulcher and Consultant Neurosurgeon Kevin O’Neill after the loss of Wendy’s husband to a malignant brain tumour, BTRC collaborates with leading scientists and clinicians to support translational research that swiftly moves discoveries from the laboratory to clinical applications. The charity also raises awareness and funds through community events like the annual "Barking for BTRC" dog show and Christmas Celebration, ensuring that 100% of net donations go directly to research projects.
